Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Posted on Thu, 06 May 2010 09:20:03 by Chris

Hi, I think it is a shame that so many people are recieving surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. There is a simple test I have developed which lets me know if the patient can be helped with my methods.

Most carpal tunnel patients have myofascitis of proximal forearm. This is the thickest, most muscular portion of the forearm.

If you simply squeeze around the top of the forearm of the carpal tunnel patient, you will see the person's middle finger pop up when you are squeezing the tightest area. Not only that, but the person will probably say it hurts, or pull away. Although this may happen in some people who have no carpal tunnel syndrome, you will not get this response in the general population, who have no complaints.

If the middle finger does indeed pop up, then the person has an extremely good prognosis, utilizing our soft-tissue treatment methods.

If the person also has neck pain, with or without shoulder pain or headaches, then they probably have "double crush" syndrome, in which a nerve from the neck is involved, as well. We chiropractors call this a "subluxation". This must be addressed, as well, for the proper "whole body" approach, which has been the focus of chiropractors for over 100 years, now.

To opt for surgery is foolishness and dangerous, and it is indeed sad that the neurosurgeon does not request a chiropractic course of treatment prior to all surgery.
